Jan Petrie

Jan Petrie is a contemporary artist who needed to show her paintings to galleries.
She saw Barry Needle's site (below) and asked me if I could do something similar for her. This site is the result.

Barry Needle

Barry Needle is an exceptionally talented photographer in Llanelli, South Wales. He needed a site which demonstarted his skills, so I provided him with a gallery and slide show.
As you may see from the comments in his Guestbook his work is now appreciated all over the world.

Dave Miles

Dave Miles is a popular entertainer in the Midlands and West country.
It was important to him that prospective employers, agents and managers should be able to hear him sing.

They can now do that by going to the 'Recordings' page where Dave demonstrates his considerable talent.

Oakdale Village

This was an interesting one. An officer of the local Partnership (their equivalent of the Parish Council)
asked if I could do something for the whole community.

I realised that however modestly such a site started off it would grow very quickly. Navigation was going to be critical, so I devised a system which made it easy to get from any part of the site to any other. (How many times have you arrived at a page where the only option is to use your browser's 'back' button?)

The site is now over 200 pages and the navigation works a treat.

The Crossoak

The landlord of this pub in Wales contacted me because he already had a web site,
but was finding it impossible to up-date because the design company wasn't responding to his requests.
They didn't reply to my emails either.
I decided that I would expand and re-design the site from scratch with a new domain name.

This site is the result. He has now moved on to another pub and has asked me to write him another site for that one.

Gill Hale

Well, OK, she's my wife - but she's still a one-woman business. As a singing and piano teacher in a very rural part of Gloucestershire one of the problems was new pupils failing to find her. I usually ended up getting the car out and going to look for them!
A site with maps was the obvious answer.

The King's Head

With more and more pubs getting on-line the landlord of my local suggested I should write a site for him.
I checked out the local opposition and found they fell into one of three categories :

1. Many pubs had no site at all (but that's changing)
2. Some had 'home-made' sites or sites "my mate wrote" which reminded me of the old adage that a bad site is worse than no site at all.
3. The pubs that belong to national chains have one page on a corporate site written by a team of web designers in Manchester or Glasgow. Remote and impersonal.

I think the King's Head site sums up exactly the sort of pub it is - a warm, friendly local.
